Child safety standards
Last updated October 26, 2026
Retrat is a private place to share photos with people you choose. We have no tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). These are our published standards against it, and they apply to everyone and everything on Retrat, alongside our Community Guidelines.
What is not allowed
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any photo, video, or description that shows or sexualises a minor, including content that is generated or altered.
- Grooming, sexual messages or requests directed at a minor, sextortion, and any other attempt to sexually exploit or traffic a child.
- Asking for, sharing, or linking to any of the above, in a photo, caption, comment, profile, or moment.
Breaking these standards ends the account, and we report it as described below. Ordinary family photos of children, shared with the people they were meant for, are fine.
How to report
- In the app or on the website, open the menu of the post, comment, profile, or moment, choose Report, and pick Child safety. Reports are private: the person you report isn’t told who reported them.
- If you can’t report from inside Retrat, write to support@retratapp.com with a link to what you saw.
- If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. You can also report to the NCMEC CyberTipline or to your local child-protection hotline.
What we do
- We review every child-safety report.
- We remove content that breaks these standards and permanently close the accounts behind it.
- We report child sexual abuse material to the authorities, including NCMEC’s CyberTipline, as the law requires, and we respond to valid legal requests.
How Retrat limits the risk
- Nothing on Retrat is public: there is no public feed.
- Every post is shown only to the audience its author chose, and a profile is visible only to the person and their connections.
- Anyone can mute or block another member at any time.
Our commitment
We comply with the child-safety laws that apply to us, including their reporting obligations, and we keep these standards under review. Questions about them, or about a decision on a report, go to our child-safety contact: support@retratapp.com. See also our Privacy Policy.
